Dear King Families,
Welcome to our new King Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) website!
As a parent or guardian of a King Elementary School student, you are invited to become a member of the PTO. We do not charge dues for membership, and as a member, you are entitled to attend monthly PTO meetings, participate in discussions, and run for Executive Board (E-Board) positions. The E-Board is responsible for overseeing the PTO and consists of 2 Co-Presidents, 2 Co-Vice Presidents, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer.
The King PTO meets once a month on the first Wednesday in the cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. The objectives of the PTO are threefold:
to promote the general welfare of children and secure the highest advantages in education;
to foster strong relationships and communication among parents, educators, and administrators; and
to promote volunteer programs and educational and informative resources for King Elementary School.
In past years, the King PTO has done this in a variety of ways including planning community events and organizing fundraisers. Community events are opportunities for King families to come together and have fun. Past community events include a back to school ice cream social and pancake breakfast. These events are funded by the King PTO and are free for all King families. Fundraising events are also great ways for King families to gather and have a great time while raising money for the school. The King of Hearts family dance, the Scholastic Book Fair, and the King 5K Jungle Run and Fun Day have been successful fundraising events.
For the King PTO to be successful and effective we need you! Whether it’s your time, your ideas, or your talent, the King PTO has opportunities throughout the year for you to help shape our growing community.
