King Elementary PTO Events

The King Elementary PTO hosts a variety of community, family, and fundraising events throughout the school year. Below is a look at some of our typical events, along with a tentative schedule for this school year.

Our events are made possible by volunteers from the King community. Whether you volunteer your time, attend an event, donate, or simply help spread the word, thank you for supporting the King PTO and our students!

PTO Meetings

The PTO meets about once a month, either in person at King, virtually, or in a hybrid format. Each month, we share the date, time, and virtual meeting link through Mr. Bergeron's weekly SMORE, on our website, and on our Facebook page.

Everyone is welcome! We try to spend the first 15 minutes sharing important updates, upcoming events, and volunteer opportunities. After that, we open the meeting for questions, discussion, and ideas. You are welcome to stay for the full meeting or simply join us for the first 15 minutes. We know families are busy, so we want our meetings to be as accessible as possible.

Kona Ice Meet-Up

We kick off the school year with a Kona Ice Meet-Up! This fun, informal event gives students and families a chance to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and celebrate the start of a new school year. The PTO provides a free Kona Ice for everyone who attends.

Open House

Open House is a school-run event where families are invited to meet their student's new teacher, visit the classroom, and learn more about the upcoming school year. Be sure to stop by the PTO table while you're there to say hello and learn more about what's happening at King!

FraminghamFest

FraminghamFest is a city-wide celebration that brings together schools, community organizations, and local groups. King PTO typically participates with a table where families can stop by, connect with us, and learn more about the PTO and our upcoming activities. Stay tuned for details!

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat is a favorite King tradition! Families decorate their car trunks and fill them with candy and other treats. Students and families come together to walk around, collect treats, and vote for their favorite trunk decorations. We often have a DJ and plenty of fun for the whole family!

Pancake Breakfast

Our Pancake Breakfast often kicks off the annual Book Fair. Families are invited to King for a delicious breakfast prepared by caregiver volunteers. Our 5th grade students often help serve breakfast as they raise money for their end-of-year activities. The Book Fair is typically open during the event, making it a great way to start your day at King!

Book Fair

We LOVE books and reading at King! Our Book Fair is about more than just selling books—we want to make sure every King student has the opportunity to choose a book to enjoy.

The PTO provides funds to help students who may need assistance purchasing a book. Proceeds from the Book Fair also help support new books for our school library and classrooms, making reading resources available to students throughout the year.

Kids Night Out

New this year! Kids Night Out will give students an evening of fun at King while parents and caregivers get a well-deserved night off. For a small fee, students can enjoy activities, games, and time with their friends while helping the PTO raise funds to support King students and programs.

King of Hearts Dance

The King of Hearts Dance is a beloved King tradition! Students and families get dressed up, spend time with friends, and enjoy an evening of dancing and fun together. There is dancing, baked goods, and opportunities to win special teacher experiences through our raffle.

The dance itself is free to attend, with the option to purchase a pizza dinner and additional raffle tickets. It's always a special night for the King community!

Cultures of King Day

Cultures of King Day is a special celebration of the many cultures, traditions, and experiences that make our King community unique. Families volunteer to share what makes their family culture special through informational tables, food, crafts, music, dances, and more. Teachers, students, and school clubs often contribute as well.

This free event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to learn from one another and celebrate what makes King such a special place to be.

Teacher Appreciation Week

During Teacher Appreciation Week, the PTO celebrates the amazing teachers and staff who support our students every day. Throughout the week, we provide special treats and surprises for the King staff—often including coffee, lunch, snacks, and other goodies—as a small way of saying thank you for all that you do!
